Days go on, day 3
We spare sometimes to wake up early eventhough we slept late last night (considering early morning by the way hihi) but we want to enjoy the breakfast and the last morning at Cebu Island. Food is nice, breakfast are completely perfect !! Some food is on display are local food such as suman. Well actually we did not really much enjoy the hotel because we were outside but still feel more than comfortable in our short period of stay here at Marriott Hotel Cebu Island. Time was running, we have to leave the hotel soon, our airport transfer has been ready booked through the hotel. We have to catch the 11 something flight to be back to Manila again, still with Cebu Pacific flight. I did not recall the Cebu - Mactan Airport look like but as long as I know it is a second busy airport in the Philippines after NAIA in Manila. The airport also have International terminal as I remember, some world airlines also landed here. I have to say Good Bye Cebu, I left but the memory still left in my mind until I wrote it down into my blog here three years later.....smileeeee, Sayonara Cebu !!!
Traveling to Manila is not too long and owh well Welcome to Manila !!
Hmmm we are here again at NAIA Term 3. We rush going to hit the city centre and arrive at our hotel in the afternoon. I did not remember our hotel's name in Manila, but that is a budget hotel with no breakfast and that is enough for us for another 2 days stay, it is just nearby the Paco Park it takes 2 minutes walk to Paco Park, is it in Ermita ? i think so. We were busy to hurry leaving our bagage in the room and we will again take a Jeepney ride and the train.
Explore Manila by our own starts here. We go to the taft avenue and take Jeepney from there to Malacanang, the President Palace. The Palace situated among the the Universities complex and next to the church, as long as I remember. We know we cannot get in that placee but at least we can take a picture in one of the gate that shows Malacanang sign written on that wall fence hmmm it is still something for us although we only passing by and actually people cannot be allowed to take a picture or no camera around but the guard stationed is only in the main entrance (as I remember) and because the Palace quite big then never mind we can walk outside around along the sidewalk and take one shot in a hurry lol. We are notice there is no Jeepney or other public transportation passing by the road we walked. The guard inform us that we will be allowed to enter the Malacanang Palace if we bring a permission letter from the authority and the request must be submitted at least two weeks before the visiting time for the approval, fyi. Next, from there we hit INTRAMUROS at Pasig, Metro Manila, this is a historical ancient complex, in Spanish Intramuros means "within the walls" is the oldest district and historic core of Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Also called the Walled City, it was the original city of Manila and was the seat of government when the Philippines was a component realm of the Spanish Empire. Districts beyond the walls were referred as the extramuros of Manila, meaning "outside the walls". Construction of the defensive walls was started by Spanish colonial government in the late 16th century to protect the city from foreign invasions. The 0.67-square-kilometre (0.26 sq mi) walled city was originally located along the shores of the Manila Bay, south of the entrance to Pasig River. Guarding the old city is Fort Santiago, its citadel located at the mouth of the river. Land reclamations during the early 20th-century subsequently obscured the walls and fort from the bay. Intramuros was heavily damaged during the battle to recapture the city from the Japanese Imperial Army during the Second World War. Reconstruction of the walls was started in 1951 when Intramuros was declared a National Historical Monument, which is continued to this day by the Intramuros Administration (IA). Walking inside the Intramuros is like walking somewhere in Joagjakarta, one of the historical city in Java Island, in my opinion. There is Starbuck outlet there but the street consider not a busy street, not so many people walk maybe most of them are tourist like us I guess.
From there we go along Roxas Avenue, the busy road along the Manila Bay. Good place for taking a bay breeze. Some people are running here, some are walking, some are sitting and chit chat. And we found that this sidewalk is considered clean there is no foodie street around, just some stalls selling drinks and snack. It is good for keep the sidewalk clean. We finally hit the restaurant at the end of the Roxas Ave. turn left so many restaurants there. From there the view along Roxas Ave is a perfect spot to catch by camera when an evening fall. Well, we decide to take a quick dinner in one of the Mang Inasal restaurant nearby there. Mang Inasal is a barbeque restaurant chain. They offer free rice and we must line up to get the seat there hmmmm maybe it is like Ayam Bakar Wong Solo here in Jakarta. Inasal means Barbeque or Grilled, Chicken Inasal is a famous barbecued or grilled chicken dish which originates from Negros. According to one of the kitchen blogger wrote that Chicken Inasal is not a usual chicken barbecue. It has a unique taste of blend of herbs and marinade which includes lemongrass, ginger, garlic, pepper, vinegar and calamansi. Unlike other barbecue, the chicken inasal does not require soysauce or catsup as add-ons for the marinade. This is one of Filipino's all time favorite. Hmmmmm yummy yummy, can you imagine that ? we find that one !! Apart of Chicken, Mang Inasal also sells pork Inasal. We have to rush going to Robinson Supermarket so after dinner we grab the taxi in a hurry, we need to shop to the supermarket things, some stuff from the Philippines. i always do that tradition if arriving in newn country or city I must visit a supermarket in tow to buy a local product as to my experience local product are very easy to find in the local supermarket, more convenient than in the market. From Robinson, we take a walk to our hotel, but it is dark already and the street we must pass by seems not really evening friendly for ladies. So we decided to take a cab from a sidewalk before the traffic light corner hmmm we ask to one local man that standing nearby us to help us to find the reliable cab and he hailed one for us also he informed the taxi driver our destination, actually the taxi driver can directly turn right after the traffic light and drive through the dark and quiet street, our hotel location is around the end of the road left side not too far, but it is a one way street, so our taxi must take another way, ahhh we finally arrive at the hotel safely, so tiring. Good job for us, from Cebu to Manila and back to the hotel before 11pm and it seems more than enough for me and my friend today, did on the road non stop. Well, I need the hot shower and the comfy bed please. Not to wait for long, a quick shower and flown to the moon, the bed is comfy enough and the aircon works well so no problem for me I do not care about the hotel's decoration that looks old and odd as long as the 3 things I mentioned above are equipped well, don't bother my sleep, it will be a never ending lol lol lol....CONTINUED
